Gaming company lobbies for Bay Mills casino

Tuesday, September 11, 2007

MGM Mirage is lobbying Congress on a bill to allow the Bay Mills Indian Community to build an off-reservation casino in Michigan.

The company paid $160,000 to Cassidy & Associates in the first half of 2007 to lobby for H.R.2176 and for other issues. The bill settles the tribe's land claim and authorizes a casino more than 300 miles away from the reservation.

The bill has been referred to the House Natural Resources Committee.
