Eastern Shawnee Tribe sees most gaming patrons from Missouri

Tuesday, December 14, 2010

The Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma says 70 percent of its casino patrons come from Missouri.

The Bordertown Casino is only a couple of miles from the Missouri border. The tribe is building a new $87 million facility to continue attracting gamblers from the Show Me state.

"What will help this economy is for people to have jobs and money to spend - and the casino affords both," Chief Glenda Wallace told The Tulsa World.

The new facility is expected to open in the summer of 2012, Wallace said.
