Little Traverse Bay Bands try another shot at second casino

Friday, March 29, 2013

The Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians are taking a second shot at a second casino in Michigan.

The tribal-state Class III gaming compact authorizes two casinos. But local approval is needed and the village council in Mackinaw City rejected an earlier proposal in 2003, The Petoskey News-Review reported.

The council has scheduled a public meeting on April 23 to hear from the tribe. Plans call for a $26 million facility.

The tribe currently operates the Odawa Casino Resort.
