The Saginaw Chippewa Tribe will share nearly $2.9 million in gaming revenues with local communities.

The tribe will share $2,139,786 with governments and schools in Isabella County. Another $739,556 will go to Arenac County.

Distributions will be made at a ceremony on Thursday. Requests far exceeded the available funds.

“Clearly the need is very apparent in the number of requests being submitted. The Tribal Council is very proud that we can be part of satisfying some of these requests and we only wish we could fund each and every one.” Treasurer Shelly Foster said in a press release.

The tribe operates two casinos -- Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort and the Saganing Eagles Landing Casino. Twice a year, 2 percent of Class III gaming revenues is distributed to the community.
