Cherokee Nation to debut hotel as part of $80M casino project

The Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma is still working on a hotel that's part of an $80 million casino near the Arkansas border.

The Cherokee Casino in Roland officially opened its doors last month. The 170,000 square-foot facility replaced an aging building that hadn't been updated since its debut in 1990.

The hotel portion will include 120 rooms. A firm opening date hasn't been determined but it's set to open this fall.

Roland was the site of the tribe's first bingo operation. The city is a few miles from the Arkansas border.
