The Wilton Rancheria is making progress on its proposed casino in northern California.
As part of a memorandum of understanding, the tribe
will share about $132 million over 20 years with the city of Elk Grove. The agreement is expected to be approved by the city council on Wednesday evening.
The tribe is planning to build a $400 million casino resort on 36 acres in the city. The site is being reviewed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs as part of an environmental impact statement.
The tribe was restored to
federal recognition in 2009.
