Grand Ronde ads attack politicians on casino

Tuesday, April 4, 2006

The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Reservation are running ads against two Oregon politicians, attacking their stance on a proposed off-reservation casino.

One ad criticizes Gov. Ted Kulongoski (D) for approving the proposed Confederated Warm Springs Tribes casino. Another ad criticizes Kevin Mannix, a Republican who is seeking the gubernatorial nomination.

The Grand Ronde Tribes own a successful casino. But if the Warm Springs Tribes gain final approval for the off-reservation site, it would be the closest to Portland.
