Brief Description of Duties to Be Performed: The Director of the Dental Support Center will be primarily responsible for managing and coordinating the Nashville Area Dental Clinical and Preventive Support Center and program activities through leadership, program planning and coordination of the Support Center program objectives. He/she will consult with Nashville Area dental clinics and non-dental staff on best practices, public health program planning and evaluations, clinical efficiency and professional guidelines
Minimum Requirements: A minimum of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in public health, dental hygiene, health education, health promotion or related field. Master’s in Public Health or related filed is preferred. A minimum of five years of experience working in public health, dental public health or health education will be considered as a substitution for a master’s degree. Public health experiences in program administration, development, implementation and evaluation a plus. Strong background and experience in dental public health is preferred. Incumbent must possess the ability to communicate public health program issues related to oral health. He/she must have cultural sensitivity and ability to work within the customs and traditions of various tribal groups. Strong knowledge, skills and abilities related Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Access software and ability to learn new software applications quickly. Ability to travel and work irregular hours.
