Position: Major Gifts Officer (American Indian/Alaska Natives/Native Hawaiians Preference)

Description: The Native American Rights Fund is a non-profit national Indian legal services organization representing Indian tribes, organizations, and individuals in Indian law matters of major significance. NARF’s main office is in Boulder, Colorado, with additional offices in Washington, D.C. and Anchorage, Alaska. NARF is looking for an experienced Major Gifts Officer who in addition to being responsible for the design, development and implementation of its major gifts program, will also be expected to discuss at a high level current state and federal relationships with tribes, various aspects of federal Indian law and its application to Native Nations as well as having a solid back ground in the historical relationships between states, the United States and Tribes. This position is responsible for managing and cultivating relationships with existing major gift donors and prospects, as well as identifying new prospects. NARF is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Qualifications: Required Qualifications: Bachelor degree/Master’s degree in a related area. Eight (8) to ten (10) years of major gift experience and relevant experience with, and intimate knowledge of, Native American communities and culture. American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians are encouraged to apply. Requires extensive travel (up to 75%).
Additional Requirements: Highly qualified candidates should be able to demonstrate quantified and measurable results from prior work experience. Upon hiring, the Major Gifts Officer will be regularly evaluated on performance and other metric based results.
