Position Title: Regional Outreach Coordinator (Exempt Position)
Salary Range: $50,000 – $55,000 DOE
Supervisor: Chief Executive Officer
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico

Recruitment Open To: The American Indian Alaska Native Tourism Association (AIANTA) is seeking an energetic, responsible and highly-motivated individual to serve as Regional Outreach Coordinator. This is an open competitive recruitment, open to all qualified applicants. Résumés will be accepted until May 29, 2020. Hiring will occur following the recruitment process. This position is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the CEO of the American Indian Alaska Native Tourism Association.

Position Summary:
The Regional Outreach Coordinator will further AIANTA’s mission to define, introduce, grow and
sustain American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian tourism that honors traditions and values through coordination and facilitation of outreach to tribal nations. Professional communication skills, the ability and desire to take initiative, and excellent relationship management experience are essential to this role. The list of duties and responsibilities below is illustrative and should not be considered all-inclusive.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 Develops existing and initiates new community outreach programs to determine the needs for
technical assistance and training for tribes interested in and/or engaged in developing, growing or enhancing their tribal tourism program(s) and/or product(s)
 Works with national/regional tribal and non-tribal partners to implement outreach projects and
programs, including project planning and management
 Works with agency partner(s) to develop project plans, timelines, revenue sources and oversees the implementation of project based outreach and programming
 Assists in the preparation of and compliance with grants, funding requests and budgets
 Develops and coordinates leader-to-leader meetings
 Develops and coordinates listening sessions
 Supports the delivery of technical assistance and training identified by tribes regionally and
 Attends regional meetings and events as relevant and/or needed and builds positive partnerships
 Assist with development and management of outreach and promotional marketing materials,
website updates, and social media presence on behalf of AIANTA
 Develops outreach materials as needed: PowerPoint templates and other supporting materials to enhance outreach efforts and events
 Provides complete, understandable and accurate information about AIANTA to the public, project team members, Tribal organizations and governmental agencies
 Assists in planning, coordinating and executing outreach events and assists other AIANTA
departments with organizational events
 Works with staff to support the delivery of technical assistance and training and AIANTA event
planning and implementation
 Serves as point-of-contact and coordinates AIANTA’s outreach efforts
 Foster relationships to grow and support outreach program efforts

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Requirements
 Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, tribal planning, communications, or closely-related field and three (3) years of experience providing tribal and/or non-tribal outreach OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
 1 year of experience working within a tribe, tribal organization and/or non-profit environment
 Proven attention to detail, high level of organization and ability to meet deadlines
 Demonstrated outreach program development, implementation and compliance experience and skills
 Demonstrated computer skills, with experience using word processing and spreadsheet software programs
 Outstanding oral, written and interpersonal skills
 Ability to work independently and in teams
 Highly motivated and a self-starter
 Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail
 Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment and the tenacity to see tasks through to completion in an accurate, thoughtful and timely manner
 Ability to travel
 Ability to participate in special projects and events as assigned
