National
Indian income data presented at AICCO summit

The American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Oklahoma's Indian business summit ended on Wednesday with a keynote from former assistant secretary and famed entrepreneur Dave Anderson.

The summit also heard from Jonathan Taylor, a research fellow at Harvard University, who presented data on income levels among Indians in Oklahoma. He said the total personal income levels grew by 33 percent to $2.7 billion in 1999 from $2 billion in 1989.

The growth rate surpassed that of the state and the nation but he said per-capita income still falls well below the national average of $21,000.
