Young Coeur d'Alene leaders see bright future


A new batch of young leaders is hoping to guide the Coeur d'Alene Tribe of Idaho to a bright future.

Chief Allan, 32, was just elected as chairman. He's part of a group of young leaders that includes Francis "Frenchy" SiJohn, the vice chairman and planning director; Quanah Spencer, the legislative director; and Valerie Fast Horse, the director of information technology,

The tribe has already seen success in the economic development, legal and political arena. New efforts include an computer center, an elders' center and a $15 million health care facility. The goal is to transform the reservation to a technology-driven economy.
