The Washoe Tribe is going back to Congress to gain access to Lake Tahoe.

In 2003, President Bush signed a bill to return 24.3 acres to the tribe. But due to a surveying error, the tribe didn't get the land it thought it was getting.

To correct the oversight, the tribe will ask Congress to shift the boundaries of the conveyance. This will allow tribal members to gain access to the East Shore of Lake Tahoe for cultural purposes.

The tribe is based in Nevada and California.
