Washington tribes give to Democratic candidate

Three Washington tribes have donated a total of $4,050 to a Democratic candidate in King County, The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports.

The Muckleshoot Tribe, the Tulalip Tribes and the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe gave to Ron Sims for King County executive. Even though the S'Klallam Tribe isn't in the county, Ron Allen, the chairman, said Sims is "respectful of the tribes' legal and political standing." The Tulalips aren't in the county either.

Sims says he opposes the expansion of non-Indian gaming. He is facing Republican David Irons.
