Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe fights underage drinking

The Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe of Washington has started a new program to prevent underage drinking.

Tribal officials say more and more teens are being caught drinking on the reservation. "Its a problem everywhere," Chairman Ron Charles told The North Kitsap Herald.

With a five-year, $600,000 grant from the state, the tribe is educating teens about the dangers of substance abuse. About 10 teens have joined the program with the hope of staying away from alcohol.
