Non-recognized tribe presses Connecticut land claim


The non-recognized Golden Hill Paugussett Tribe of Connecticut will continue to press its land claim against the state.

The tribe recently amended its federal lawsuit to seek back payments for the use of about 140 acres The tribe says a federal judge approved the changes to the case.

Separately, the tribe has 24 lawsuits pending in state court. The cases were put on hold while the Bureau of Indian Affairs considered the tribe's application for recognition. The BIA rejected the tribe.
