IAIA alumna to present storyteller to First Lady

Kathleen Wall. an artist from Jemez Pueblo and graduate of the Institute of American Indian Arts, is presenting a storyteller figure to First Lady Laura Bush today.

The storyteller, "Opening the World to Little Hands," depicts seven children clustered around an adult woman who is reading aloud from the pages of a book titled "Sheweeah Dreams of Jupiter." Wall will present it to Bush, a former librarian, before the annual Congressional Club First Ladys Luncheon in Washington, D.C.

The theme of this year's luncheon is "The First Americans." Jana, a Lumbee singer, has been invited to perform.

The Institute of American Indian Arts is a two-year and four-year tribal college in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
