Exhibit marks 500 years of Colorado Indian history

An exhibit opening tomorrow at the Colorado Historical Society marks 500 years of Indian history.

"Tribal Paths: Colorado's American Indians, 1500 to Today" covers major areas of tribal life, from conflict with non-Indians to assimilation to sovereignty. To create the exhibit, an advisory council of tribal members was created to help tell the story.

The 3,000-square-foot exhibition is intended to follow "Ancient Voices: Stories of Colorado's Distant Path," an installation of Indian history prior to the arrival of Europeans.
