Cherokee Nation responds to brutal winter storm

The Cherokee Nation is helping communities in eastern Oklahoma that were hit by an ice storm.

The tribe has delivered more than 25,000 gallons of water to help those in need. Some rural communities have been without water and electricity since late last week.

The tribe is also moving to clear roads in several rural areas. Power generators, cots and other items have been distributed throughout the 14-county Cherokee jurisdictional area.
