Mille Lacs Band starts pension program for members

All members of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe of Minnesota will receive a pension plan, courtesy of the tribe.

The tribe will set aside 5 percent of net revenue each year. Interest generated on that money will be used to fund the pensions.

The first pensions will be about $1,500 a year. But over time, they could grow even higher, the tribe's long-range planner said.
