Members of the Six Nations held a march on Wednesday on the one-year anniversary of their occupation at Caledonia, Ontario.
On February 28, 2006, tribal members started camping out at the site of a housing development. The Six Nations says the land still belongs to them.
The Ontario government has tried to evict the protesters. But the Canadian government has called for negotiations, angering local residents and provincial officials.
Non-Natives have clashed several times with the protesters. Some believe the government is treating the Mohawks differently because of their race.
