Pascua Yaqui Tribe buys next to reservation

The Pascua Yaqui Tribe of Arizona recently purchased 90 acres from the state but officials are still deciding what to do with the land.

The tribe could ask the Bureau of Indian Affairs to place the land in trust. No decisions have been made, said an aide to Chairwoman Herminia Frias.

The tribe originally sought four parcels totaling 570 acres. But the state on only agreed to sell two parcels as part of an auction process.

The tribe won the parcels with a bid $3.28 million.
