The Navajo Nation is hosting a grand opening for a new health center in Red Mesa, Arizona.
The Four Corners Regional Health Center will serve 11,000 people in the Four Corners region. The 118,000-square-foot, $64.1 million facility features a 24-hour emergency room and will provide community health services, mental health services, dental services and trial health programs.
Despite the opening, Navajo officials say the center is short-staffed due to lack of federal funds, with only 57 of 249 employees in place. Also, the center will only be open Monday through Friday.
