The Kalispel Tribe of Washington hosted the annual Northwest Indian Youth Conference this week.
The conference drew more than 800 youth to the Spokane Convention Center. It was the first time the tribe hosted the meeting, which started Monday and ends Saturday.
Indian youth from the Pacific Northwest and other parts of Indian Country heard from motivational speakers, learned more about college opportunities and networked. They participated in a basketball tournament and will wrap up with a powwow today and tomorrow.
