PBS documentary to include Native veterans

Filmmaker Ken Burns has agreed to change his World War II documentary to add footage on Native American and Hispanic veterans.

Burns completed "The War" for PBS. But Hispanic groups raised concerns when they found out the film didn't contain any information about the role of Native and Hispanic soldiers.

PBS at first decided to include interviews with Native and Hispanic veterans during breaks in the airing of the 14 1/2-hour series. But the film itself will be changed to respond to the concerns.

About 80.000 Native American men and women served in the military during World War II.
