Navajo Boys & Girls Club in Shiprock to reopen

The Boys and Girls Club in Shiprock, New Mexico, will finally reopen after more than two years of leadership struggles.

The club was closed amid a funding dispute between the Navajo Nation and the nonprofit that operated 14 Boys and Girls Clubs on the reservation. The tribal government finally took control of the organization.

The Shiprock club is set to reopen on Thursday. Glen Permuy, senior vice president of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, to Navajo Nation President Joe Shirley Jr. are scheduled to attend a ceremony at the facility.
