Tulalip Tribes signs modern day treaty with city

The Tulalip Tribes of Washington pledged to work with the city of Marysville on economic development, transportation and other issues.

Tribal and city officials signed a cooperative agreement on Monday. "Our goal is not to compete, our goal is to be complementary on what's going on here," Mayor Dennis Kendall said, The Everett Herald reported.

The signing came at the dedication of a new highway extension. The tribe contributed federal money towards the project and plans to work with the city on another interchange.
