Chippewa Cree Tribe signs Medicaid deal with state

The Chippewa Cree Tribe and the state of Montana signed an agreement to help tribal members through the Medicaid process.

The tribe will assign an official to help determine whether tribal members qualify for the program. "We want to simplify the process and make it more user friendly by having our tribal members deal with somebody they know, not strangers," Jonathan Windy Boy, a state legislator and council member, told The Great Falls Tribune.

The tribe already reached an agreement with the state to determine eligibility for the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families program.
