Chickasaw Nation to manage Kiowa Tribe housing

The Chickasaw Nation will manage federal housing programs for a fellow tribe in Oklahoma.

The Chickasaws were recommended to the Kiowa Tribe by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Kiowas were under investigation by HUD for improper accounting of $10 million in block grants.

The Kiowas agreed to appoint the Chickasaws to manage all federal housing funds. The goal is for the Chickasaws to train the Kiowas to regain control of the program.
