Navajo Nation First Lady Vikki Shirley accepted a donation of 1,407 pairs of socks from the San Juan Rotary Club in New Mexico.
Shirley visited the club last fall and spoke of the need for clothing for Navajo children. So club members launched the Sock it to You! campaign to receive donations.
We're going to give them out to children in remote areas," Shirley said, The Farmington Daily Times reported. "Those children are frequently the neediest."
