FEMA won't provide assistance to Montana tribes

The Federal Emergency Management Agency won't provide assistance to two Montana tribes whose reservations were hit by heavy rain and floods.

FEMA tallied just $421,545 in damages on the Crow Reservation and the Northern Cheyenne Reservation. That's far lower than the Crow Tribe's assessment of at least $2.5 million.

FEMA and the state Disaster and Emergency Services are headed to the Fort Peck Reservation today to assess damage there.
