Saginaw Chippewa Tribe purchases hotel

The Saginaw Chippewa Tribe of Michigan is purchasing the Holiday Inn and several businesses in Mt. Pleasant.

Chief Fred Cantu said the tribe was looking to diversify. The purchases include the 183-room Holiday Inn, the 42-room Green Suites extended-stay hotel, a restaurant, a night club a health club and a golf course.

Cantu said the tribe has no immediate plans to have the land placed in trust. There is some trust property across the street.
