Notah Begay returns to course for national tournament

Navajo/Pueblo golfer Notah Begay III is back on the greens to play in the AT&T National tournament this week.

Begay was a rising star in the game but health issues forced him to take an extended break. "It's been a year-to-year-out struggle to try and play healthy," Begay told The Baltimore Sun.

Begay is using a sponsor's exemption to play this week at the Congressional Country Club. The tournament is being hosted by his former Stanford University teammate Tiger Woods.

"In a year, I taught him everything I knew," Begay joked.

Begay hopes to regain his health and compete again. But he's been busy with other ventures, including a foundation for Indian youth and tribal partnerships.
