Former Rep. Carson supports Obama for president

Former Congressman Brad Carson, a member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, supports Barack Obama for president.

"As President he will end the current failed foreign policy that is killing thousands and ruining America’s good name abroad," Carson says in a letter published in The Native American Times. "Obama believes, as do I, that we should be guided by our faith in God and shared values to make the right decisions in government. I also support Obama because I know he will do right by the First Americans."

Carson, who lost his 2004 Senate bid to Republican Tom Coburn, says Sen. Obama will unite Americans. " I hope that you will join me so that together we can usher in a new era of American politics based on unity and shared goals – a time of tribal nation building, growth, prosperity, and shared humanity," he says.
