Yakama Nation pressed for more per cap payments

Members of the Yakama Nation of Washington want the tribe to increase its per capita payments.

Tribal members already receive $100 month from timber sales. They are now asking for $500 later this month and another $500 in December.

With about 10,000 members, that comes to about $10 million. Some tribal leaders say the tribe can't afford it.

Tribal members are also pressing for a share of gaming revenues. They gave the council 90 days to come up with a plan.
