The Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma donated $3,000 to a program that supports troops in Iraq.
The Shawnee Senior Center's Adopt-A-Unit Program sends packages to soldiers with items useful in the desert.
Volunteers send out an average of 20 boxes a month.
The tribe's donation is the single-largest donation to the program, which has raised more than $4,550 so far.
