Suspension angers many on Winnebago Reservation

The Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska heard a slew of complaints about a decision to suspend the chief executive officer of Ho-Chunk Inc., the tribe's economic development corporation.

About 50 family members, tribal members and employees told the council the suspension of CEO Lance Morgan will negatively impact business. Ho-Chunk reports over $100 million in revenues.

"Our future is at stake -- Ho-Chunk's future, the tribe's future, our families' futures," Maunka Morgan, Lance's brother said, The Sioux City Journal reported.

The group also expressed support for chief operating officer Annette Hamilton, who was also placed on leave. The two executives don't know when their suspension will be resolved.
