Salt River Tribe opens new corrections facility

The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community of Arizona dedicated a new corrections facility on Thursday.

The 78,000-square-foot center is about 12 times the size of the current facility. It has room for 120 inmates - 75 adults and 45 juveniles.

The center also has space for classrooms for adult and juvenile education programs and Boys & Girls Club. It was funded by the tribe and a grant from the Department of Justice.
