Pine Ridge Reservation hosts 'Walk to Iraq'

The Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota is the site of the "Walk to Iraq" on Saturday.

The walk will honor soldiers who are stationed in Iraq. It was the idea of Percetta Red Willow-Richards, whose husband, Jim, is on his third tour of duty since the start of the war in 2003.

"It's kind of a family thing," Red Willow-Richards tells The Rapid City Journal.

Nineteen teams from the reservation have already signed up for the walk and have logged 4,000 of the goal of 13,500 miles. Organizers are encouraging families from other reservations to join.
