Native communities vulnerable to climate change

A report from the University of Colorado at Boulder says Native communities will be disproportionately affected by climate change.

Tribes in the Southwest could face more water shortages while Alaska Natives could lose land due to changing climates, the authors of "Native Communities and Climate Change, Protecting Tribal Resources as Part of National Climate Policy" said.

The report says tribes might benefit from renewable energy sources. It calls on more support from state and federal governments.
