BIA hires special agent for justice services

The Bureau of Indian Affairs has filled a law enforcement position that was vacant for nearly a year

Elizabeth Kolb, a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe of South Dakota, is the assistant special agent in charge for the BIA's Office of Justice Services. She oversees law enforcement in Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Washington, Oregon and Alaska.

Kolb is the first woman to hold the job. She comes to the BIA from the National Park Service, where she served as a ranger. She graduated from the law enforcement academy in Rapid City, South Dakota.
