Narragansett Tribe to block disenrolled from vote

The Narragansett Tribe of Rhode Island says it will arrest anyone who tries to interfere in an upcoming election.

The tribe responded to rumors that disenrolled members are going to try to vote on October 27. More than 200 people have been kicked off the rolls in recent years.

"If they are not on the list, they will not be able to participate," Chief Sachem Matthew Thomas told The Providence Journal.

Thomas, 46, is running for re-election. His opponent is Paulla Dove Jennings, 67, who believes the tribe was wrong to remove the people from the rolls.
