Alaska Natives to meet for annual convention

About 3,000 people are expected to attend the annual Alaska Federation of Natives convention this week.

AFN is returning to Fairbanks for the second time since 2005. The convention is normally held in Anchorage but Fairbanks has been competing to host the meeting.

The conference starts Thursday and runs through Saturday. Live coverage can be accessed at http://www.nativefederation.org and on KNBA.

The convention is preceded by the AFN Elders’ and Youths Conference, which starts today.
