Seminole Tribe blends computers and culture

The Seminole Tribe of Florida is mixing technology with tradition at its new charter school.

The tribe opened the $10 million building for the Pemayetv Emahakv Charter School in August. Nearly 150 kids, from kindergarten to fifth grade, are attending classes that emphasize Seminole culture and language with modern touches like iPods and the Internet.

"The Seminoles have gone beyond the four corners of our reservations. Today we have businesses around the world -- and who's going to run these businesses?" asked council member Max B. Osceola Jr., The Miami Herald reported.

Pemayetv Emahakv means "our way" in the Creek language.
