Chippewa Cree Tribe to hand out 1,150 turkeys

The Chippewa Cree Tribe of Montana is distributing 1,150 turkey baskets to families on the Rocky Boy Reservation.

The baskets come with a turkey, a 5-pound bag of potatoes, cranberries, stuffing mix and other food items. "It's a full meal," July Houle, the director of senior citizens programs for the tribe, told The Great Falls Tribune.

Volunteers at the senior center will begin delivering the baskets to 840 homes on the reservation. The remainder will be distributed in Havre and Great Falls.
