Hopi court issues arrest warrant for chief judge

The chief judge for the Hopi Tribe of Arizona is a wanted man.

Gary LaRance was supposed to be arraigned on criminal charges related to a fight on the reservation. But since he failed to turn up due to previously scheduled engagements, a tribal judge issued an arrest warrant for him.

LaRance was charged with disorderly conduct and assault and battery. He allegedly got into a fight with another man at a softball game last Saturday.

LaRance was arrested but released on his own recognizance even though tribal policy forbids that in assault cases.
