Navajo Nation chapters reclaim traditional names

More Navajo Nation chapter governments are reclaiming their traditional Navajo names.

The Baahaali Chapter (formerly Breadsprings), the Tsah Bii Kin Chapter (formerly Inscription House), the T'iistoh Sikaad. Chapter (formerly Burnham) and the Tse' Daa' Kaan Chapter (formerly Hogback) are among those that recently reverted to their Navajo names. "To me, it's preserving and protecting the native language," GloJean Todacheene, a Navajo Nation Council delegate, told the Farmington Daily Times.

Of the 110 chapters, most still have an English name.
