Mille Lacs Band investigates assault of child

The Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe is investigating a possible sexual assault involving a 3-year-old boy and an older child.

The alleged assault occurred on the evening of January 23 at a child care facility called Kids Quest. The facility is located within Grand Casino Mille Lacs but is not owned by the tribe.

Tribal police have identified an older boy between 8 and 10 years old as a possible suspect or person of interest.

The incident occurred while the boy's parent was inside the casino. The parent was paged by Kids Quest when a worker noticed bruising on the boy.
