Hoopa Valley Tribe receives mobile homes

The Hoopa Valley Tribe of California is receiving a donation of 20 to 30 mobile homes.

The homes are coming from Rancho Monticello, a resort on Lake Berryessa. The Bureau of Reclamation has banned trailers on the shoreline so the resort has offered owners a break if they donate to the tribe.

"There is such a huge need for affordable housing," Alfredo “Billy” Colegrove, a property procurement manager for the tribe, told The Napa Valley Register.

The tribe is paying $1,800 to $3,000 per unit to haul the homes to its reservation. The first two should be arriving this week.
