Oklahoma tribes donated $1M to state politicians

Oklahoma tribes contributed more than $1 million to state politicians in 2006 and 2007, with most of the money coming from three tribes, The Tulsa World reports.

The Chickasaw Nation was the largest donor, with $408,100 in contributions. The Choctaw Nation followed with $282,250 and the Cherokee Nation with $213,900.

Together, these three tribes represented 90 percent of the total tribal contribution amount, the paper said. The money went to politicians and committees of both parties.
